Description

In search of a 5* forever home for my best friend ❤️

Chardonnay is a beautiful 14.2hh 13 year old cob. While this is the hardest decision I’ve had to make, unfortunately due to personal circumstances I cannot give her what she needs. The best home for her is the absolute most important thing.

Chard has been trained in natural horsemanship and I would love her to carry this on as she really enjoys it. She can be spooky on hacks, but is never nasty, just needs a confident rider to give her some reassurance. She is not a bucker, but can give tiny half hearted bucks (this has happened twice in the 6 years that I’ve had her). She is not a kicker, rearer, or bolter, but she is opinionated and would need a calm and soft rider to be gentle with her.

Good to shoe, travel, load, show, worm, and tack up. Chard prefers bitless though she is ridden in a bit currently. Can be fairly strong on the ground if she is brought in last, but nothing unmanageable. One of her quirks is that she can pull to the grass and is quite strong, therefore wouldn’t suit being led by an unconfident child.

Chardonnay has been loved by me for over six years and I would love for her to continue making another person very happy while I am busy with other life commitments. I will be there day and night for any questions, concerns, or advice. I truly just want the best home for her, she has given me so much and has never wanted for anything.

She would be suited to someone who wants to try their hand at anything; showjumping, hacking, schooling, fun rides, and even xc. If you are interested in natural horsemanship, trick work, and liberty work, Chard has already been taught the basics and would excel at this. She has also placed in multiple in-hand shows.

She can be ridden bitless or bitted, and isn’t clipped. She has had a small bout of laminitis once in her life 5 years ago, and has never shown signs since, however she is a good-doer which means her grazing is managed and she wears a grazing muzzle when the grass is good.
