14.2hh, 11 years, Skewbald Mare

Sydney has lived with us since she was 4 years old and since has enjoyed the riding school. She has taken until 10 years old to fully grow so until that age we kept her in light schooling work and now developing her schooling further. Sydney is a forward going and forward thinking sweet mare. Sydney does have SWEET ITCH and we manage this by keeping her covered with a mask and sweet itch rug and bath her regularly. She enjoys to live out as much as she can and is stabled overnight during winter periods. She can kick the door if feed time is late or if she is left in the stable for many hours during the day (she is fine overnight). Sydney is now communicating that she wants a one to one home as she absorbs riders emotions and isn’t getting any hacking or variety in life, which leaves her feeling frustrated and she will try to bite if her tack is brought towards her. However, when she is just with us and our confident team of staff she is relaxed and happy. She enjoys schooling, hacks in open spaces and roads, she can have the odd spook but is generally safe. Sydney has never bucked or reared. She loves to be lead file whether its on the road or in the arena, she is a great lead file horse. We would like an adult or competent teenager with adult experience with horses for Sydney due to her being a forward thinking and forward going horse and having sweet itch to be cared for. Sydney has the odd rub mark from her sweet itch and it is well maintained and cared for. She travels and loads well, good with the farrier/ dentist, great to catch and comes to call, good to bath, clip and lunge.

Sydney has yearly vet health checks for the riding school license. She had her teeth done every 6 months until she turned 10 years old and now can be viewed yearly (she has had 5 star care since being a 4 year old). She has her feet trimmed every 6 weeks, and her worming and vaccinations are up to date. As all our horses have, Sydney has undergone physio when required as part of our maintenance routine. Friendly and motherly in the field with the other horses, she is currently in with mares but is fine with geldings. Sydney has great potential to be an all rounder or progress in the suited discipline.
