Description

Full up 14.2 traditional cob Mare

Up to date with farrier, teeth and vaccinations.

Shod on the front but could probably go barefoot.

Angel is an ideal low lever all rounder, she just needs a bit more time spending with her to improve her fitness. She’s been on hound exercises, cross country outings, grid-work clinics, and she’ll hack for hours.

I was unfortunately admitted into hospital in September 2023 and her training has taken a step back since then. She had some time off until January as I was unable to ride, and from then I’ve been hacking and doing the odd bit of jumping in the arena. I dragged her out the stable this weekend and did some inhand showing where we placed second in the cob class with good comments. I’m now in a position again where I can’t ride and have come to the decision to sell her so she can have some consistency.

I bought her as a confidence giver after suffering numerous bad falls, I’ve had complete beginners on her and she was safe and slow. She would suit a mother daughter share, or even a first horse for a competent rider coming off ponies as she can step up where needed. Until she’s back in the routine she can throw in a tiny spook going down the lane away from the yard, nothing dangerous in the slightest she’s just being dramatic and making sure you’re awake then you can hack for hours.

She’s been around traffic and always coped fine but we only have quiet country lanes and moorland near us so I’ve not done masses of road work with her. I wouldn’t like to say for definite what she would be like in the heaviest of traffic although we do have to cross a busy main roads to get to the gallops and there’s never been an issue.

She’s good on the ground she can sometimes just get excited going out to the field (like any horse)

She's good to shoe, good to catch, stands and has her teeth done without sedation, and good for the vet.

I’ve loaded her in to boxes with no issues what so ever, I’ve never put her in a trailer but I can have this done before she is sold.

She will stand at let you clip her body all day, she’s ticklish on her head so I usually do it with trimmers and she can be funny with her legs, she’ll let you do them if your patient and someone holds her, but for this reason don’t bother hogging her anymore. (She’s not sedated in the video, I’ve never ever sedated her for anything)

She prefers to live out and after prolong periods of stabling she can start to pull a face in the stable as she wants feeding, this is more common over winter when there is no turnout. With more work I think this would be less common.

She’s only been turned out with mares with myself, and quite quickly becomes the herd leader. She’s been turned out with geldings previously and there were no issues. She's quite often been left as the last one in the field and never bothered.

I’ve tried to include as much detail as possible and been as honest as I can, any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.

She comes with a full wardrobe of tack and rugs.

She is located in Rossendale, Lancashire

Passported and microchipped
