| Billington makes return at Hickstead - 26 July 2007 |
|
Geoff Billington returns to the British Show Jumping team for the Samsung Super League Nations Cup today after an absence of eight years.
The inclusion of the 52-year-old for the event at the Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead comes after a number of consistent performances on Cassabachus.
Most recently he secured a dramatic victory in the Jumping Derby at Hickstead last month in one of the most prestigious wins of his career.
Mr Billington will be joined in the team by Michael Whitaker, Ellen Whitaker, William Funnell and Nick Skelton as they strive to retain the Prince of Wales Trophy.
This year's show at Hickstead marks the 100th anniversary of the event, which runs from the 25th to the 29th of July.
The event was first held at London Olympia in 1907, and has since also been staged at Wembley Stadium as well as the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
